Mic channel is tagged as you. Remote speakers are clustered by voice.
Captures any audio source
System audio, microphone, calls. Stereo capture, both sides intact.
One-time purchase

macOS native
Apple Silicon optimized. WhisperKit + CoreML + Metal.
Auto-update
Sparkle delivers signed updates from the publisher you trust.
How it works.
- 1. Click the menu bar icon. Pick your microphone. Hit record.
- 2. ScreenCaptureKit grabs system audio on the left channel. AVAudioEngine grabs your mic on the right. Stereo 48 kHz WAV.
- 3. Stop recording. Choose Transcribe. WhisperKit produces a plain transcript and, if you ask, a diarized one with speaker tags.
- 4. The .wav, .txt, and .diarized.txt sit next to each other in your Recordings folder. Yours to keep.
Pricing.
- No subscription, no recurring charge.
- Every 1.x update included.
- Use on your personal Macs.
- 30-day refund through Paddle.
Questions.
Does it use the cloud?
No. Transcription, diarization, and storage all run on your Mac. The only network calls are license validation with Paddle and the Sparkle update check.
Does it work offline?
Yes, after first activation. The license is cached in the macOS Keychain. Models download once on first launch (about 600 MB for transcription, 25 MB for speaker embeddings) and run entirely locally after that.
What languages does it support?
Whisper large-v3 handles ~100 languages with varying accuracy. English is strongest. Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Mandarin all work well in our testing.
Will it work on Intel Macs?
No. AudioTap is built for Apple Silicon (M1 and later). The transcription model uses CoreML and Metal acceleration that Intel Macs lack.
Is it on the App Store?
No. AudioTap captures system audio via ScreenCaptureKit, which the sandbox restricts in ways that break the product. We ship outside the App Store, signed and notarized by Apple.
How do refunds work?
30 days, no questions asked. Email support@audiotap.app and we issue the refund through Paddle.
What about future versions?
Your $39 includes every 1.x update. A 2.0 would be a separate purchase, with an upgrade discount for existing users.
Who is behind it?
